The annual ‘Let It Snow’ event is the highlight of the Winter Wonderland Package. Every Friday and Saturday evening from December 2 – 17, 2016, Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village invites guests to the popular holiday event with a multitude of festive activities below.

A Gingerbread Village that Gives Back!

This holiday season, come check out our gorgeous Gingerbread Village that will be auctioned off to support Boys and Girls Club of Greater Conejo Valley!

Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village will build a playful Gingerbread Village in the lobby of the Hotel in celebration of the holiday season.  The village will be on display from November 25 – December 31, 2016 and will feature a variety of themed houses. Each house will be auctioned, and the proceeds will be donated to Boys and Girls Club of Greater Conejo Valley.

Executive Chef Patrick Fahy dreamed up the ideas for these intricate and magical gingerbread houses with the help of his talented team. The Gingerbread Village will include a Polar Express Train, a giant Ferris Wheel, Whoville House, Alice In Wonderland House, a replica of the Hotel’s Stir coffee bar, a replica of the L.A. Ram’s Stadium, Mushroom House, Nightmare Before Christmas House, and a Candy Cane Cabin. Every aspect of the Gingerbread Village is made from edible ingredients from candies, to colored glazes, to sugar structures.

HEALTHY THANKSGIVING TIPS

Tip One:
Try to avoid using canned food that is high in sugar. The biggest culprit is cranberry sauce. Cutting back on sugar can lower inflammation that causes chronic disease. A healthy food alternative is this “Pear Cranberry Sauce” which contains half the sugar, and the pears add a natural sweetness.

Tip Two:
Thanksgiving is all about gratitude and giving back. Share leftovers with your guests, co-workers or by donating to a shelter. Be prepared in advance with leftover to-go containers and divide up small portions to share among your group of choice.

Tip Three:
Try not to carbo load. Between potatoes, stuffing, sweet potato casseroles, breads, desserts and more, Thanksgiving meals can be quite high in carbohydrates.  Substituting some carbs for vegetables is a great alternative to some side dishes. For example, instead of the traditional mashed potatoes try this “Pureed Cauliflower” side dish.  Also, instead of apple pie for dessert, swap for this “Berry Crisp” which is also lower in fat and sugar, but not in taste.

Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village has partnered with award winning boutique olive oil orchard, Ojai Olive Oil Company, to bring guests an insider look at California’s world renowned olive oils. 95% of the nation’s olive oil is produced within California, and the state is proud to create some of the best olive oils in the world. The history of olive oil has deep roots in California, with the first olive oils produced in the 1700s. Ojai Olive Oil Company is located just an hour from the Hotel, and hosts an organic olive grove, olive oil pressing facility, and on-site tasting room. Each olive is hand picked and sorted to produce specific flavors and qualities in the olive oil.

Guests of the ‘Taste of Place’ package will receive a private tour of Ojai Olive Oil Company’s orchard and ranch with the proprietor of the brand, an olive oil tasting, and will learn first hand about the production and health benefits of olive oil. Savor Executive Chef Jesse Hansen’s signature cuisine during an all-new Prologue chef’s table dinner at Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village. Prologue is a lively California Brasserie taking place monthly and featuring innovative, seasonal dishes and highlighting locally sourced ingredients.

The exclusive dinner seats only 22 guests and will take place on Friday, October 29.
